Weather impacting on bin collections (Tuesday 5 January)

Due to the recent icy weather conditions, the waste collection service was unable to complete a number of collection routes (Tue 5 Jan) and the weather forecast indicates similar icy conditions over the coming days.

If we have been unable to uplift either a black, paper/card or glass/plastic/metal bin, all affected residents are asked to leave their bins out for collection and we will empty them as soon as possible. We have extra vehicles to cover this but due to the weather, it may be a few days until this happens.

In relation to brown bins - this is being reviewed daily and if we are unable to collect a brown bin on the specified day due to the weather, residents are asked to return their bin to their property and it will be collected on the next allocated collection day. We won't return to collect any brown bins in order to allow us to prioritise those bins which will have been most utilised over the festive period.

The special uplift service has been suspended for the rest of this week and all pre-booked collections have been contacted and scheduled for another suitable date.
